CLASSIC CARS | Hammond
Eighteen vintage and modified classic American autos will be on display starting March 17 and continuing through April 25 at the Indiana Welcome Center, Interstate 80/94 and Kennedy Avenue. Car enthusiasts will want to view the Early V-8 Ford Club of Northwest Indiana’s cars in the W.F. Wellman Exhibit Hall. The exhibit showcases vintage cars and trucks from 1926 to 1966. Club members own a range of classic U.S. autos from original, restored, touring and modified street rods, all of which can be seen in the exhibit. Exhibit hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.

STUDENT NIGHT | Schererville
Institute of Management Accountants - Calumet Chapter, will hold a Business Meeting and College Student Night on March 18 at Zuni's Restaurant, 5124 Pine Island Plaza. CRIME WATCH | Hammond
Hammond Citywide Crime Watch meeting is at 6:30 p.m. March 17 at Hammond Police Department, Sector 7 Office, 6820 McCook Ave. Attendees will discuss topics of interest to residents. GUITAR HERO | Griffith
Youths can participate in Guitar Hero and Dance Revolution at 2 and 6:30 p.m. March 29 at the Lake County Public Library's Griffith branch, 940 N. Broad St. Children in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to the first session of interactive games. Teens in seventh through 12th grade are invited to the 6:30 p.m. Register in advance.

BRIDAL SHOW | East Chicago
Msgr. Connelly Council Knights of Columbus will host a bridal show from 6 to 9 p.m. March 26 at the hall, 1104 Knights of Columbus Drive, (Indianapolis Boulevard at the Indiana Toll Road) and is accepting vendors. Cost for a 72-inch round covered table is $150, or $175 if electricity is needed.

FIELD MUSEUM | Munster
Munster Parks and Recreation Department offers a "behind the scenes" trip from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 9 to the Field Museum in Chicago. Did you know the museum houses nearly 23 millions specimens and artifacts? Less than 1 percent of those are on display. The remaining 99 percent are stored in halls, vaults and cabinets. On this private, one-hour tour, go behind the scenes and learn facts from a museum anthropologist, then tour the museum on your own. Trip includes admission, private tour and motorcoach transportation. The fee is $88 for residents, $93 for nonresidents and $86 for Keen-Ager members. Register at Town Hall, 1005 Ridge Road.

ANNUAL MEETING | Schererville
Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District will hold its 63rd annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 20 at Teibel's Restaurant, U.S. 41 and 30. Guest speaker is Sam Carmen, education director for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources' Division of Forestry. Tickets are $15 for a chicken and perch dinner, followed by the presentation of conservation and teacher awards, election of a supervisor, recognition of a guest and a report of district activities for the past year.

The Foundation for Cardiovascular Research of the Community Healthcare System sponsors a free program on the aging process and how to unlock the secrets of staying young. The program will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 19 at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road. Barry Franklin, co-author of "Take a Load off Your Heart" and the "No-Fad Diet," will share some of the latest research regarding the connection between aging and exercise. The professionals of Functionally Fit will be conducting the American Lung Association's Freedom From Smoking clinic to be held in eight sessions, March 24 to May 5, at Trinity Reformed Church, 8411 Columbia Ave. All sessions begin at 7 p.m. and last for 90 minutes. Most sessions meet on Mondays. The April 16 session is a Wednesday. The methods used in the clinic will provide individuals who smoke with proven strategies for changing their behavior and lifestyle.
